On Sunday evening, the English Department at West Virginia Wesleyan College will host a celebration of the life and work of Dr. Irene McKinney, WVWC professor emerita of English, and West Virginia Poet Laureate from 1994-2012.
The event will interweave reminiscences of McKinney's life and career with selected readings from her work delivered by WVWC English Department faculty.
It will take place on the main stage of WVWC's Virginia Thomas Law Performing Arts Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend what promises to be a glad and lively celebration of McKinney's singular life and art.
This event is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by the Departments of English and Theatre & Dance at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
