Celebrate Recovery is a solid approach that offers hope and help to individuals and families seeking freedom from their hurts, destructive habits and hang-ups through a Christ-centered recovery program.
Founded more than 18 years ago by California pastor and international leaders, Rick Warren and John Baker, Celebrate Recovery has achieved gratifying results by offering "wholeness" to people everywhere. Baker, who struggled with alcohol, sparked and designed this empowering program. Baker is associate pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif.
"We are all in need of recovery, we're all broken, we've all missed the mark and we've all fallen short," Warren said.
Celebrate Recovery at Real Life Church in Weston was spearheaded by ministry leader, Angela Batten.
"When most people think of recovery they think of drugs and alcohol. In all reality, many people deal with issues such as overeating, sexual addiction, shame and guilt. We all simply face the condition of being separated from God and this program provides a safe environment where people can deal with their issues in anonymity," Batten said.
Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. every Friday. The doors are open to people from every walk of life to come and experience the freedom found in this Christ-centered program. Celebrate Recovery is a nondenominational program.
Child care is available and refreshments are served at the end of the evening. Real Life Church is located at 385 Mid Ave. For additional information, anyone interested can call Batten at 304-476-4590.
