Mr. Ronald Todd Harsh, 34, a resident of Fairmont and formerly of Belington, departed this life early Saturday morning April 28, 2012, at 1013 Brown Avenue in Belington. Death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born Aug. 27, 1977, at Morgantown, a son of Ronald M. and Sharon Wilmoth Harsh, who survive.
On Sept. 30, 2006, he was united in marriage to the former Amanda Ketchem.
He is also survived by one sister, Veronica (Harsh) and husband Michael Mallory, of Charlottesville, Va.; nephew, Chase, and niece, Lauren, of Charlottesville, Va.; maternal grandfather, Ira "Simmie" Wilmoth of Belington; uncle, David Harsh of Beckley; uncle, Harold Harsh of Buckhannon; aunt, Mary, and uncle, Tom Harter, of Parkersburg; aunt, Sheila, and uncle, Ron Sheets, of Charleston; and special family friend, Mary Jean George of Belington.
He was preceded in death by, one infant sister, Stefanie Ann Harsh; uncle, Bobby Harsh; maternal grandmother, Louise Wilmoth; paternal grandparents Kathleen and Smokey Harsh; and paternal great-grandmother, Clara "Granny" Harsh.
Mr. Harsh was a 1995 graduate of Philip Barbour High School, had attended Fairmont State College and had formerly worked at State Farm Insurance in Frederick, Md. He was a welder and a member of the Boiler Makers Union. Todd loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He loved fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers and was an automobile enthusiast. He loved animals, especially his dog, Benny, who stayed by his side in life and death.
A private visitation and funeral service will be conducted for the immediate family on Wednesday, May 2, at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington with the Rev. Gregory Lewis officiating. A fellowship dinner for friends and family will be hosted at Westside United Methodist Church in Belington at 2 p.m.
