Tigers cruise past Bearcats; East Hardy blanks Pendleton County Petersburg trips PBHS

GRAFTON?- Houston Schuler surrendered just two hits in five innings pitched to lead Elkins to an 11-1 win over Grafton Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action.

Schuler allowed just one earned run, struck out seven and walked one batter for the Tigers (12-8).

Clayon Collett finished with three hits and scored three runs for Elkins. Caten Murphy belted a three-run home run for the Tigers, while Cody Gainer hit a two-run shot.

Jason Wagner took the loss for the Bearcats in two innings pitched.

Elkins will entertain Bridgeport for another conference contest today at 7 p.m.

East Hardy 13,

Pendleton County 0

BAKER?- Tyler Mongold scattered just four hits in five innings pitched and Kollin Foltz belted a pair of home runs as East Hardy rolled to a 13-0 win over Pendleton County Tuesday in Potomac Valley Conference action.

Mongold struck out eight and walked just one batter in earning the win for the Cougars, who improved to 23-5 overall and 12-1 in league play with the win.

Both of Foltz's homers in the contest were of the two-run variety.

Mongold also hit a home run and finished with two hits for East Hardy.

Korey Foltz and Justin Basye chipped in with two hits and knocked in two runs each for the Cougars.

Daniel Hevener suffered the loss for the Wildcats (15-11, 7-4) in 1 1/3 innings pitched.

Corey Simmons had two of Pendleton County's four hits in the contest.

The Wildcats will entertain Petersburg today for their next contest.

The Cougars will close out the regular season at home on Friday when they face Keyser for a non-conference matchup.

Petersburg 8,

Philip Barbour 5

PETERSBURG?- Hunter Warner and Trevor Harman had three hits each to lead Petersburg to an 8-5 win over Philip Barbour on Tuesday.

Jesse Earle notched the win for the Vikings (21-6) in six innings pitched.

Chance Price suffered the loss for the Colts.

Andy Green and Seth Fitzwater drove in a run each on one hit for Philip Barbour, which fell to 12-14 with the loss.

Both teams will return to action today. The Colts will travel to Tucker, while Petersburg visits Pendleton.
