"We have around 40 vendors registered to participate. They range from someone who creates handmade wooden cooking utensils, to purse and jewelry vendors and more," said Heather Goodwin Henline, publisher and general manager of The Inter-Mountain. "We also will have nonprofit organizations selling delicious homemade food and other concessions in addition to the special concession stand that will be operated by Davis & Elkins College."
The show also will benefit a number of local nonprofit agencies, including Catholic Charities and the Randolph County United Way, among others. Attendees are asked to bring a donation of nonperishable food items for an extra chance at the grand prize drawing.
All in all, it should be a great time for everyone, Henline said, noting she is excited The Inter-Mountain has been able to bring the show to town.
"We are thrilled to bring a national show of such a high caliber back to Elkins. In addition to being an evening of great fun that is suitable for the entire family, this show directly will benefit so many organizations in the community through financial or other donations," she said. "We once again are conducting a food drive for Catholic Charities. The United Way directly benefits from this event as will several school boosters, churches and other nonprofit groups."
Tickets are available through The Inter-Mountain. Prepurchased tickets are $12, and tickets purchased on the day of the show are $15 - both include a gift bag. There also is a limited number of VIP tickets available for $35. They include a deluxe hardback Taste of Home Cooking School CookBook, valued at $30, a photo with Cohen, a light reception prior to the show and a gift bag.
The fair will take place in the Davis & Elkins McDonnell Center Gym from 2 to 6:15 p.m.
