Members of the Upshur County Board of Education recently approved the following personnel moves on the recommendation of Superintendent Scott Lampinen during the board's first regular meeting of May.
The following resignations were accepted:
Elizabeth Henry as substitute teacher, effective April 20, 2012.
Jeanette Anderson as supervisory/transportation aide, effective April 23, 2012.
Caryn Sinclair as substitute aide, effective April 26, 2012.
David Langley as substitute teacher, effective April 30, 2012.
Wayne E. Dean as substitute bus operator, effective April 27, 2012.
Samuel W. Tenney as substitute custodian, effective April 27, 2012.
Nikki Doty as head boys' soccer coach at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School, effective May 2, 2012.
Laura Leister as substitute teacher, effective May 3, 2012.
The following employments and/or assignments were approved, and all are contingent upon satisfactory background checks as required by state law:
David A. Lewellyn as volunteer assistant citizen freshman football coach, effective with the 2012-2013 season.
J. Edward McDaniels as substitute teacher, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Nathaniel Sams as RESA substitute teacher, pending WVDE certification.
Helen Corder as RESA substitute teacher, pending WVDE certification.
The board accepted transfers of the following personnel:
Janet McDaniels from her position as secretary at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School to secretary at French Creek Elementary School, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Crystal Shaw from her position as secretary at the Transportation Department to secretary at Washington District Elementary School, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Ann R. Alborano from her position as cook III/cafeteria manager at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School Elementary School to cook III/cafeteria manager at Washington District Elementary School, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Jill Pennington from her position as itinerant supervisory aide at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School to supervisory aide at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Crystal McCarty from her position as multi-categorical special education teacher at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School to first-grade teacher at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
Kimberly Gaunt from her position as itinerant hearing impaired teacher to fifth-grade teacher at Buckhannon Academy Elementary School, effective with the 2012-2013 school year.
The board approved the following emergency medical leave with pay:
Susan C. Long from her position April 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2012.
Maria Eddy from her position April 24, 2012.
Sandy Kraynok from her position April 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 30, 2012.
Leslie Alkire from his position April 26, 2012.
The board approved the following requests for leave without pay:
Sheri L. Crisp from her position from March 19 (1/2 day), 20, 21 and 22, 2012.
Beth Post from her position April 26, 2012.
The board also approved the placement of Marshall University teacher candidate Deborah Adams for placement with Ellen Blaydes, teacher of visually impaired.
