Garnet R. "Buck" Tenney, 77, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home on Sago Road.
He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Upshur County, a son of the late Clarence Junior and Lessie Westfall Tenney.
He is survived by five daughters, Kelly Oberg of Ohio, Debbie Yates of Clarksburg, Ruby Hager of Huntington, Pam Watson of Weston and Crystal Merritt of Elkins; five sons, Tim Tenney and wife, Diana, of Buckhannon, Ed Tenney and wife, Mae, of Buckhannon, Jeff Tenney and wife, Diane, of Buckhannon, Ralph Tenney and wife, Bonnie, and Everett Tenney of Buckhannon; three sisters, Diane McCartney and husband, Richard, of French Creek, Stella Virginia "Cubie" Black and husband, Lawrence, of Buckhannon, and Lora Hamner of Tallmansville; three brothers, Peanut Tenney of Selbyville, Delbert Tenney and wife, Mary, of Tallmansville, Vacel Tenney and wife, Janet, of Warren, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Okie and Herbert; and one sister, Vonnie Burr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 23, from 10 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour, at the Sago Baptist Church with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in Big Bend Cemetery.
