The third annual Broaddus Hospital golf tournament is slated for June 1 at the Bel Meadow Country Club.
As the most successful fundraising event for the hospital and Mansfield Place, this tournament is becoming a tradition among golf enthusiasts.
"We appreciate the support of the local communities through sponsorship and participation in this event," said Jeff Powelson, Chief Executive Officer of Broaddus Hospital. "The funds raised will go a long way in providing support to help expand our services, facilities and equipment so that Barbour Countians continue to receive the highest level of care."
The 2011 tournament raised more than $5,279, which helped with the purchase of an automatic, handicapped-accessible door for Mansfield Place.
The Davis Health System Foundation provides organizational support for the tournament, and the lead sponsor is Benefit Assistance Corp.
Registration fees are $65 per golfer or $250 per team, which includes golf greens fees for 18 holes, a cart and lunch. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The shotgun scramble begins at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided after the tournament, with awards following.
Golfers will compete for first- and second-place prizes. Prizes also will be awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin.
"A spirit of fun and a terrific cause make this tournament a great event," Powelson said. "We appreciate the support of all who help make it a success for local health care."
