Aaron McClintic Hamrick, 33, of Matheny, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 21, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Oct. 24, 1978, at Elkins, and was a resident of Huttonsville for eight years, moving to Webster Springs with his family at the age of 8. He was a resident of Matheny with his wife, Jamie Gum Hamrick, and worked for Blue Stone Mining as a coal miner. He was a 1997 graduate of Webster County High School where he excelled in baseball, football and basketball. He attended Garret College in Maryland on a baseball scholarship. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and staying at the family camp and loved spending time with his family.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Jamie Gum Hamrick of Matheny; parents, Keith and Hope Hamrick of Webster Springs; brother, Joshua Hamrick, and niece, Jayde of Oceana; and sister Keisha and husband, BJ Fullmer, and niece, Brylee of Eagle Mountain, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Eva Hamrick of Huttonsville and Dice and Catherine Rimel of Buckeye.
Friends may join the family on Thursday, May 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Elder Barry Mullens and Elder Berlin Cutlip officiating. Interment will follow at the family farm in Monterville.
In lieu of flowers ,the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Webster County High School Athletic Program, 1 Highlander Drive, Upper Glade, WV 26266.
