Barbour Grand Jury indicts 14

The Barbour County Grand Jury indicted 14 people Tuesday on charges ranging from drug-related crimes to abuse and forgery.

Benjamin C. Champ, 46, of 410 Beverly Pike, Belington, was indicted on three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Virginia Louise Gardner, 29, of Elkins was indicted on a felony count for delivery of a controlled substance and a separate felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Sarah Ann Rutherford, 27, of 2770 Indian Fork Road, Orlando, was indicted on two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Richard Curtis Layne, 55, of Route 2 Box 77, Philippi, was indicted on three counts of failure to register as a sex offender and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Pamela Kay DeLauder, 43, of Route 2 Box 261, Belington, was indicted on the charge of abuse or neglect of an incapacitated adult.

Crystal Lynn Marple, 30, of Route 1 Box 212, Buckhannon, was indicted on one count of embezzlement by fiduciary, one count of fraudulent schemes, one count of conspiracy and five counts each of forgery and uttering.

Anthony Baisi, 36, of 313 Battle Street, Philippi, was also indicted on a felony charge of embezzlement, fraudulent schemes, uttering, and forgery.

Silas Elliot Gain, 28, of HC 76 Box 204, Helvetia, was indicted on one count of conspiracy and one count of fraudulent schemes.

Matthew Aaron Cvechko, 37, of 104 Beach Avenue, Philippi, was indicted on one count of conspiracy and one count of fraudulent schemes.

Jeremy Alan Davis, 35, of Philippi was indicted on one count of receiving/transferring stolen property.

Chad Aaron Price, 37, of Route 1 Box 267, Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of driving under the influence, third offense, and a misdemeanor count of driving with a license revoked for DUI.

The Grand Jury also returned three sealed indictments Tuesday. Arraignment hearings will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Barbour County Courthouse.

All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
