Charleston area natives Leann Hughes and Andrew Price will premiere "Blackwater Canyon: Portrait of the Wild Lands" at the Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge at 7 p.m. June 17.
The film is the first documentary to provide a snapshot of the history of the Blackwater Canyon and examine the impact of its socioeconomic evolution from the business of mining and timbering into an eco-friendly tourist destination known as the "crown jewel of West Virginia."
A reception for the filmmakers will follow the screening. These events are free and open to the public.
