Stephanie Leigh Pyle of Waynesboro Pa., daughter of the Rev. Stephen and Sallie Pyle of Elkins, once again will be the featured vocalist at several June and July church and civic events in this region.
Pyle, 24, a six-year student of Valley Forge Christian College of Phoenixville Pa., was part of a missionary trip to Italy in March with the VFCC Concert Choir and selected students. Pyle and the collegiate entourage were privileged to sing at the famous St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice, along with concerts/visits in Florence, Padava, Rome and Milan, Italy.
During her college tenure, she and the choir have toured Italy on three different occasions. In addition, the group has shared NYC's Carnegie Hall stage with a visiting Korean Choir. In high school, she was in Pennsylvania's All State Chorus for two years, and once with a choir concert in Hershey aired on PBS TV.
Pyle garnered a virtuoso scholarship and finished twice in the top three of her female vocalist categories in national competition in Austin, Texas; Denver, Colo.; and Orlando, Fla. She is finalizing her VFCC college career through May 2013 and expects to graduate with a major and minor degree.
The Concert Choir recently released a CD project, "Statement of Faith," with Pyle as soloist on the title song. She is working on a solo CD project, with no current release date.
While visiting in the area of Randolph, Taylor and Pocahontas counties for June and early July, she'll be the featured soloist at Highland Park, Mercy Chapel, Orleana and Otterbein United Methodist churches. Other venues of singing will include trio, solo and duet numbers with her parents as the Stephen Pyle Family at Gospel Light Tabernacle in Elkins, Bowden Family Worship Center and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Grafton.
At Elkins Church of God of Prophecy on June 24, a West Virginia northern district rally will be included with the Pyles ministering in various arrangements. Refreshments will be served.
In addition, Pyle is scheduled soloist at Hebron Baptist Church in Green Bank, Good Shepherd Assembly of God Elkins and Church of the Nazarene in Marlinton. She also just accepted an invitation to sing at the God and Country Rally scheduled for July 4 in Elkins City Park.
Pyle is a coloraturas soprano with extreme vocal range and she sings a variety of gospel styles. On the tour dates that feature her parents in selected songs, there will be a mix of southern, traditional and contemporary gospel music delivered.
