John Samuel Callaway Jr., 57, of Delray Beach, Fla., and formerly of Beckley, passed away on May 8, 2012.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1955, to Dr. John Samuel Callaway and Mary Elizabeth Callaway, both of whom preceded him in death.
Sam attended the schools of Raleigh County and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended Florida State University and worked for many years in commercial real estate. Sam loved fishing, boating, golfing, sports cars, cooking and all things Florida. He enjoyed helping others and was a joy to know. He will be deeply missed by his family. His family will fondly remember the eight months he spent with them in Elkins in 2011 during recovery from hip surgery.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann McDonald; brother-in-law, Brian McDonald; and two nieces, Christina Smith and Lauren (Derek) Smith Evans.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Beckley and attended the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon during the time he lived with his sister and brother-in-law.
A memorial service was conducted for him on Sunday, May 13, in Delray Beach, Fla., at Lorne & Sons Funeral Home.
