The commencement ceremony for the Highland Adventist School class of 2012 took place recently. Each of the five senior class members graduated with honors or high honors and is enrolled to attend college in the fall.
The graduation program featured music by the Highland Adventist School orchestra and choir, a photo tribute to the members of the class, speeches by each of the class members and a commencement address by H.A.S. high school teacher Jeremy Jacko.
Jacko challenged the students to invest in their future by making good preparation and good choices. Class valedictorian, Joel Grey, and co-salutatorians Madalin Teter and Angela Volpe, responded with speeches. In addition, the class arranged for a certificate of appreciation to be presented to Chinese exchange student Hang Yin, who spent the year with the class but is not graduating.

"In addition to their academics, the members of the class have provided leadership at our school through their work in the school's Student Association, participation in the school's music and service programs, and leading the praise and worship team," said Cheryl Jacko, principal. "We have really appreciated their leadership and contribution and will miss each one."
