Kenneth C. "Kenny" House, 78, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Community, Elkins, passed away Friday evening, June 1, 2012 at his home. He was in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.

He was born May 16, 1934, at Elkins, a son of the late Seymour and Catherine Maxson House.

On June 1, 1957, at Elkins, he was married to Alice Carol Jones House, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Randy L. House and wife, Debra, of Erie, Pa., Michael L. House and wife, Sandra, of Charleston; one brother, Carl House of Elkins; three grandsons, Christopher R., Andrew C. and Adam P. House; and one great grandson, Alexander K. House; two step-granddaughters, Angela L. Norman and Eliza L. Ballard; and seven step great grandchildren, Emily, Matthew and Zachary Smith, Issac, Garrett, Theron and Kaylee Ballard also survive. Also preceding him in death was one sister, Mary Catherine Bunch.

Kenny was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1952 and had retired 16 years ago from Verizon, where he had worked as an installer. He was an avid collector and enjoyed gardening and was a Baptist by faith.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Gilman.
