This year's annual West Virginia Birthday Cake Contest will be a Cupcake Challenge, with West Virginia's Birthday as the theme for the competition. Bakers should present at least 12 cupcakes.
There is a $75 first-place prize for cupcakes in the adult category, with half the judging determined by the decorating and half by the taste of the cupcake. There will be a $20 prize for the teens/children category.
Judging is set for 11:30 a.m. June 26 at the Lewis County Senior Center on West Second Street in Weston.
The contest is planned as part of Weston's Amazing Week, June 22-30.
