Herbert Luther Hobbs, 67, of Route 2, French Creek, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, in Louis A. Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Jan. 28, 1945, at Baltimore City, Md., a son of the late James and Lena N. Creech Hobbs.
He was united in marriage, on March 2, 1995, to Shelia Faye Ervin Hobbs, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Michelle Burnside of French Creek; three sons, Joseph Hobbs of Maryland, Robert Hobbs and wife, Jessica, of Jane Lew and Michael Feronti Jr. and wife, Sherry, of French Creek; 12 grandchildren, Johnathan and Brician Beaton, Tyler, Julius, Sarah, Marshall, Alexis and Hobbs, Austin, Emily and Jessica Feronti and Courtnie and Bryanna Burnside; one great-grandchild, Bentley Cutlip; one sister, Wanda Lee Bentley and husband, Billy Rae, of Maryland; five brothers, Kenneth Hobbs of Buckhannon, Wayne Hobbs and wife, Dianne, of Maryland, Clarence "Bebop" Hobbs and wife, Wanda K., of Maryland, Rocky Hobbs and wife, Nilda, of Virgina, and James Clayton "J.C." Hobbs of North Carolina.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Thursday, June 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow in French Creek Memorial Gardens. Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion and Disabled American Veterans Chapters 5 and 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside.
