For three weeks during the month of June, the West Virginia Secondary School's Athletic Commision allows a summer practice session for high school and middle school sports teams.
Many schools and teams will get things started on Monday, which is the first day teams are permitted to practice.
Below is a list of the schools and teams' practice schedules in the area.

Elkins High School - The following teams will begin practice on Monday: Volleyball (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.); varsity girls basketball (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.); cheerleading (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.); boys basketball (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.); All of the aforementioned practices will be at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
Elkins football will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Wimer Stadium, and cross country will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Davis & Elkins College.
EHS?girls soccer will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the high school?soccer fields, while the boys team will begin practice on June 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tygarts Valley -The following teams will also begin practice on Monday: Baseball (9 a.m. to 11 a.m Monday through Wednesday); cheerleading (10 a.m. to noon); volleyball (noon to 2 p.m.); varsity boys basketball (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.); varsity girls basketball Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (2 p.m. to 4 p.m).
Tygarts Valley High School varsity football practice will start on June 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Middle school football practice for Tygarts Valley will begin on June 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both football teams will practice at Bulldog Field.
Buckhannon-Upshur - The following teams will begin practice on Monday: Cheerleading (8 a.m.); varsity boys basketball (noon); varsity girls basketball (2 p.m.); football (4 p.m.); varsity boys and girls soccer (6 p.m.).
Tucker County - The following teams will begin practice on Monday: Football (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.); varsity boys basketball (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.); varsity girls basketball (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.); middle school football (5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.).
Philip Barbour - Two sports at Philip Barbour High School are scheduled to begin practice on June 18; Girls soccer (8 a.m. to 11 a.m.) and wrestling (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.).
