An open house celebration to commemorate the 50th wedding anniversary of Dr. James D. and Judy L. Curtis of Junior is planned for June 23 in Buckhannon.
On June 23, 1962, James Donald Curtis and Judy Carolyn Lockhart were married by the bride's father, the Rev. B.J. Lockhart, at the Junior EUB Church, now Bethel United Methodist Church, in Junior.
Mr. Curtis is the son of the late Blair and Ava Curtis.

Mrs. Curtis is the daughter of the late B.J. and Ada Lockhart.
Having returned to Junior in 1987, the Curtises have continued to reside there for the past 25 years.
Mr. Curtis, known as "Pastor Jim," was the pastor of New Covenant Church in Junior for 18 years. He is now the president of West Virginia Christian University with campuses in Buckhannon and Morgantown, serving North Central West Virginia for the past 13 years.
The Curtises have five children: Terri and husband, Terry, Young of Hanoi, Vietnam, Tracy Curtis of Morgantown, Tandra Linger of Fairmont, Todd and wife, Carole, Curtis of North Augusta, S.C., and Tiffany and husband, Brian, Elliott of Elkins. They also have 13 grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Young, Ashley and husband, Mark, Cantrell, Sydney and Sean Curtis, Brittany, Meagan and Christopher Linger, Duncan, Evelyn and Morgan Curtis and Aaron and Austin Elliott; and two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Garrett Cantrell.
Their children invite family and friends to attend the 50th anniversary open house from 2 - 4 p.m. June 23 at The Way of Holiness Church Fellowship Hall in Buckhannon.
