Students become Highland Scholars

Davis & Elkins College awarded nine Pocahontas County High School graduating seniors $450,000 in scholarships on May 24 during the Senior Awards Ceremony as part of D&E's nationally recognized Highlands Scholar Program. Students receiving the awards to attend Davis & Elkins College this fall include Ricky Shinaberry, Ashley Hammons, Summer Chestnut, Lyndsey Barlow, Gloria Jerome, Lindsey Kinder, Callie Morrison, Rosie Perkins, Jedrek Sheets and Dillon Kelley.

The Highlands Scholarship is given to qualifying seniors every year graduating in Barbour, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker, Upshur and Webster counties. More information about the scholarship is available by calling the Office of Admission, 304-637-1230.
