Carter Roag receives safety awards

Carter Roag Coal Co. Pleasant Hill Mine recently accepted the Joseph A. Holmes safety award. The award was for achieving the best injury-incident rate of all underground mines employing 101 to 200 employees. Accepting the award from West Virginia State Inspector at Large Ed Peddicord is Carter Roag Safety Director Bill Currence. Also present are President of West Virginia Coal Association Chris Hamilton, former West Virginia football coach Don Nehlen, Carter Roag Superintendent Brad Phillips and Director of Emergence Response Don Jones.
