Davis & Elkins College awarded 31 Elkins High School graduating seniors $1,596,000 in scholarships recently as part of D&E's nationally recognized Highlands Scholars Program.
Students receiving the awards to attend Davis & Elkins College this fall include: Christopher Campbell, Nicholas Carr, Jacob DeMotto, Hunter Fath, Tyler Fortney, Maggie Fry, Gabrielle Haddix, Matthew Hewitt, Allison Howell, Christian Hunt, Natalie Josimovich, Elliott Karr, Andrew Kelley, Samantha Kyle, Lukas Letan, Jonathan McNemar, Matthew Metz, Stephanie Miller, Rachael Nelson, Travis Norwood, Kara Parrack, Dallas Poyner, Timothy Riddle, Emily Seel, Allyson Smith, Briana Smith, McKenzie Summerfield, Sean Tyre, Chelsea Weese, Ashley White and Bethany Williams.
D&E Executive Vice President Kevin Wilson presented EHS guidance counselor Beth Kittle with a big check for the school's total award. The Highlands Scholarship is given to qualifying seniors every year graduating in Barbour, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker, Upshur and Webster counties.
