Church to offer summer program, movie

June 13, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

Tygarts Valley Presbyterian Church in Huttonsville will offer a summer program for families and individuals beginning Thursday, and it also will host a drive-in movie Thursday night.

For the summer program, everyone is invited to gather at the church at 6:30 p.m. for a simple meal. This will give families an opportunity to stop the rush of their daily life and spend some time together as a family over a meal. It also provides an opportunity for those who live alone to share a meal with others or couples to have some fellowship time with a group of great people.

After the meal, those in attendance will then go to a variety of classes offered for children, youth and adults. All classes will offer Biblical stories to gain a better understanding of how to live in today's world as a person of faith. Using the lighthouse as an overarching theme, all age groups will explore the idea of Jesus being the light of life and how people can be Christ's light to the world.

The evening will end with a brief worship experience. There is no charge for this program, however an offering will be taken each evening to benefit Heifer International. Everyone is welcome.

For the drive-in movie, the back parking lot of the church will be transformed into an outdoor movie theater. Everyone is asked to bring a chair and a soft drink to share. Popcorn will be provided.

The drive-in is set between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Thursday. Everyone is welcome to come and join us for a great family movie appropriate for all ages.

More information is available by calling the Rev. Joanne Glaser at 304-591-8308. Tygarts Valley Presbyterian Church is on the hill on the left coming from Mill Creek toward Huttonsville, with a lighthouse out front.
