DeWayne F. Wentz, 80, a resident of Baughman Towers, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2012, at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1931, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Charles S. and Juanita F. (Fornash) Wentz.
He was united in marriage on Oct. 22, 1954, to Edna Marie Wentz, who preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2006.
Surviving include three daughters, Anita M. Westfall and husband, Robert D., of Buckhannon, Sylvia L. Wentz and Christina F. Wentz, both of Philippi; one son, Kelvin D. Wentz of Philippi, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Wentz was preceded in death by one brother, Sherman E. Wentz.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for AFLCIO Local 132. Mr. Wentz enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday, June 16, from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley and Pastor John Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery at Hall.
