Oden and Irene Linger celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 5.
They were married on June 5, 1947, in Franklin, Pa.
In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Buckhannon, staying close by to their parents. That is where they started their family of five children, four boys and one girl, Roger Lee, Steven Michael, Richard Daniel, William Oden and Debra O'Denise. They also have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

They moved to Maryland in hopes of more opportunities while raising their family. Both had careers as managers, Mr. Linger at Ford Motor Co. and Mrs. Linger at Safeway Stores.
Mr. Linger is a part-time preacher at churches in the Elkins area, and Mrs. Linger tends to the house and garden.
The couple's children plan to have a family celebration with them over the summer months.
