Free genealogy workshop scheduled at Wesleyan

June 18, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

West Virginia Wesleyan College is hosting a Local History and Genealogy Workshop from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the college's Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The event will enable participants to learn how to access historical documents, college archives and church histories to find information and how to contact researchers for assistance with a family or local history project. There will be representatives from local historical societies as well as researchers from the college library. Discussions will include what resources are available at local institutions and online for those interested in local or family history in the central West Virginia area.

Those interested in participating are asked to preregister as soon as possible by calling Beth Rogers at 304-473-8463 or emailing rogers_e@wvwc.edu.
