Trail project set for this Saturday

June 20, 2012
The Inter-Mountain

Volunteers are welcome to help build a trail connecting the Thomas Trails to the Rail-Trail to the Coke Ovens. This is an amazing opportunity to get out into the great outdoors and help the community.

The group will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday the North Fork Watershed Project Team's office, 737 William Ave., in Davis, and then drive to Park Entrance in Thomas.

If coming from Canaan Valley, volunteers should drive through Davis and look for the office on the left side of the road just after Sirianni's Pizza and the Fire Hall in a large gravel parking lot.

Coming from the north, volunteers can meet the group at the outskirts of Thomas at Park Entrance just over the U.S. 219 bridge toward Parsons, on the right. From Elkins, volunteers can take U.S. 219 to Parsons and climb the mountain to Thomas.

Everyone is invited, and those participating are asked to wear long pants and work shoes. Trail work will be followed by pizza and refreshments.

More information is available by calling 304-259-5600.
