Davis & Elkins College Athletics will hold the second annual Senator Club Golf Classic on Friday, June 29 at Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center.
The event will benefit D&E athletics and their fourteen NCAA Division II programs.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. with a shot gun start scheduled for 9 a.m. Players receive a welcome package, eighteen holes of golf, a shared cart and awards luncheon immediately following tournament play.
Team prizes will be awarded for tournament champion, runner-up, third place and high scoring. Skill prizes will be awarded for longest drive and several 'closest-to-the-pin' holes.
"Everyone involved with Senator athletics is excited about our upcoming tournament," D&E athletic director Ronnie Palmer said. "This is the second year for the tournament and we're looking forward to a great turnout. The Elkins community continues to be very supportive of Senator athletics and this tournament is no exception."
The first player to hit a hole-in-one on Par 3, hole No. 6 will win $10,000 cash. Other prizes will be awarded for lucky hole-in-one shots on the remaining Par 3 holes on the course. Dixon Golf, an Arizona-based manufacturer of the world's first high performance eco-friendly family of golf balls, will also be on hand to host their "Dixon Challenge." Each participants will receive a tournament giveaway package in addition to many valuable raffle prizes available.
