The Rock Cave CEOS club's June meeting was called to order by Debbie Page, president.
The meeting was conducted at the Banks District Civic Center with 13 members and two guests present. The guests were Katie Linger, the granddaughter of Jean Linger, and Kristen Kelley, the great niece of Connie Simmons.
Ted Turner offered the blessing before refreshments. Cheryl Turner, vice president, read the devotion "The Spider is Not Home." It was followed by the flag salute.
Carol Haymond, secretary, read the May meeting minutes following the roll call. The motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Janet DePoy and seconded by Susie Bender. The motion carried.
Jean Linger gave the treasurer's report. Carol Haymond motioned and Connie Simmons seconded to accept the report. The motion was carried.
Avis Bowles gave the marketing and membership report as follows: Bowles brought the May minutes and meeting pictures to local papers; sent the June advance meeting notice to local papers and brought recyclables to the recycling center. Bender brought recyclable items to the recycling center and magazines to the Rock Cave IGA Book Nook, as did Haymond.
In old business, the strawberry basket auction was discussed. The club's basket sold for $50. Appreciation was shown to Red and Cheryl Turner for displaying the CEOS poster at IGA for West Virginia CEOS Week. Janet DePoy attended Learn n' Return.
In new business, various meetings were announced including the club's annual picnic, set to take place at 6 p.m. July 3 at Gel and JoAnn Hawkins' home at Fish Hawk Acres.
Ted Turner motioned to adjourn at 8:15 p.m. for the plant and white elephant sale.
