Robert Paul Davis, 68, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 8, 1944, in Elkins, the son of the late Harold Bud and Retha Malcomb Davis.
On Sept. 13, 1980, he married M. Gail Suder, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Crystal I. Ballantyne of Elkins and Melissa Stickney Rada and husband, Logan, of Charleston, S.C.; four sons, Michael H. Davis and wife, Shae, of Elkins, Jamie L. Davis of Stow, Ohio, Eric Stickney of Oceanside, Calif., Stacy Stickney of Fredericksburg, Va.; two granddaughters, Megan L. Davis of Morgantown and Hanna M. Davis of Elkins; three grandsons, Eric Chandler Stickney of Long Beach, Calif., Cole Stickney of Oceanside, Calif. and Eli Davis Ballantyne of Elkins; and one sister, Patti Ware and husband, Darrell, of Dailey.
Mr. Davis was a member of Horizons Church in Buckhannon. He was a proud WV coal miner for 40 years, earning several safety awards. He worked abroad in China for three years training Chinese coal miners in efficiency and safety. He treated his employees with respect and his influence is still felt today. He was a devoted father and husband.
Friends will be received today from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Hayhurst officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center in Morgantown.
