Daisy Lea Black, 85, of Buckhannon, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 3, 1926, at Ellamore, a daughter of the late Samuel D. and Molly Robinson Anglin.
On Feb. 27, 1943, she married Merideth Ray Black, who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2002. She is survived by three sons, Robert W. Black and wife, Eula Faye, of French Creek, Ricky R. Black and wife, Melba, of Buckhannon and David M. Black and wife, Lori, of Buckhannon; two daughters Karen S. Byrd of Buckhannon and Joyce F. Powers and husband, Benton, of Buckhannon; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Betty L. Bailey and Mona G. Anglin, both of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Lucille Black; grandson, Robert W. Black, Jr., infant twin grandsons, Eric and Derick Perry; and one son-in-law, Tabner Dean Byrd. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Howard Anglin, Ronald Anglin, Donald Anglin, Randolph S. Anglin, James E. Anglin and Nelson D. Anglin. She was a homemaker and a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor, and friend, who will be greatly missed by many people who loved her dearly. Mrs. Black was a Christian by faith and loved and attended Sago Baptist Church while her health permitted.

Friends were received Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating.
