The Grant County Landes Art Center features a variety of fine arts including concerts, plays and pageants in the county seat.
The historic 305-seat theater, located on Mt. View Street in Petersburg, serves as an auditorium hall for a range of groups and nonprofit organizations. The Petersburg High School theater program utilizes the center to present its theatrical productions, said Louis Alt, the director of the Landes Arts Center.
The center contains a state-of-the-art light and sound system and a large projection screen. It holds two art gallery areas, dressing rooms and a "green room" for performers.
Upcoming events at the Landes Art Center include The Fabulous Hubcabs, an oldies show band, at 7 p.m. July 3; the West Virginia Poultry Association Teen and Queen Pageant at 7 p.m. July 22; the County Store Opry at 7 p.m. Sept. 8; and a Robert E. Lee re-enactor at 7 p.m. Sept. 27.
