Dr. Larry McArthur, chair of the Biology and Environmental Science Department at Davis & Elkins College and dean from 1998-2008, is congratulated by his wife, Kathy, after receiving the traditional D&E Hitchcock chair. McArthur, who is retiring, was honored for his 30 years of distinguished service to the college during a reception in Halliehurst near the end of the academic year. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. from West Virginia University. He had also received the honorary Masters of Humane Letters degree from D&E.
