Philip Woodward

Philip H. Woodward of Fanwood, N.J., passed away at home on June 23, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Philip was born at Elkins, on Dec. 20, 1936, to the late Reginald Vaughn Woodward and Margaret O'Connor.

He lived in Beverly, graduating from Beverly High School in 1955 and Rutgers University in 1987. Mr. Woodward was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Korea. He spent many years traveling and living abroad with his family while working for Sea-Land Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Miller Woodward, also originally from Beverly. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in December 2011.

He is also survived by his children and grandchildren; daughter, Aletha Consales, wife of Richard Consales and mother of Nicholas and Katie Consales all of Fredon, N.J.; and son Michael Woodward, husband of Sharra and father of Thomas and Samuel Woodward of Basking Ridge, N.J. He also is survived by his stepmother, Mary Margaret Woodward Morrison of Elkins; sisters, Kathleen Royster and husband, Dick Royster, of Hampton, Va., and Sue Royster and husband, Robert Royster, of New Bern, N.C.; and brother, Donald Woodward and wife, Dusti Woodward, of Covington, Va.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Woodward, in February 2012, leaving his widow Virginia Woodward of Ft. Myers, Fla.

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His request for cremation was honored and a memorial service will be conducted in Beverly in July. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Atlantic Home Care and Hospice, 465 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960.
