Franklin D. "Frank" Coontz, 72, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away June 24, 2012.
He was born March 10, 1940, at Belington, the son of Ernie and Versie Snyder Coontz.
Mr. Coontz was a member of Anthony Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. and Union Local 402. He was retired from Navistar following 35 years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Teter Coontz; two sons, Thomas (Connie) Coontz of Springfield, Ohio, and Theodore (Carrie) Coontz of Belington; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Brook, Matthew, Danny, Jacki and Michael; one brother, Jim (Frances) Coontz of Fairmont; one sister, Geraldine Day of Springfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Danny and Michael Coontz; his parents, several brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. On Saturday, friends may call at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from noon to 2 p.m. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery near Belington.
