The former Big Tee Bridge in Elkins is renamed The Tim Belt Memorial Bridge at a dedication ceremony on May 26. Guests and speakers included Delegates Denise Campbell and Bill Hartman, who sponsored the resolution to rename the bridge. Belt’s two daughters, Alexis and Caitlin, also took part in the ceremony. They’re shown here removing the shroud or covering over the new bridge sign. Belt constructed more than 40 concrete structures and bridges throughout the state of West Virginia, and this bridge was his last project before his death on Dec. 17, 2011. In addition to his children, Belt is survived by his parents, Ovid and JoAnn Belt of Ivydale.
