Irvin Henline

Irvin Lawrence Henline, 69, a resident of Parsons, went home to be with our Lord early Saturday morning, June 30, 2012, at his home. Death was attributed to a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Thursday, Dec. 3, 1942. at Parsons and raised at Leadmine, a son of the late Gilbert and Ina Evans Henline.

He was twice married, first to Frances Ann Casto Smith, who survives at Winchester, Va. On Oct, 24, 1992, at Leadmine, he was married to the former Wilda E. Bowman Dillsworth, who survives at Parsons.

Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Helmick and husband, Mike, of Fairmont, Coleen Taylor and husband. Mike. of Winchester, Va., and Rose Schoenly and husband, Brad, of Middletown, Va.; two stepdaughters, Jenny Johnson and husband, Roger, of Thomas and Dawn Webb of Oldsmar, Fla.; four stepsons, Harold Dillsworth and wife, Kerry, of Oakland, Md., Steve Dillsworth and wife, Kathy, of Aurora, Shawn Dillsworth and wife, Alexis, of Harrisburg, Pa., and James Dillsworth and wife, Amie, of Parsons; one sister, Betty Moran of Hambleton; mother-in-law, Alice Baker of Parsons; nine grandchildren, Dena, Jodie, Dallas, Levi, Nathaniel, Brooke, Cody, Sarah and Katie; 15 stepgrandchildren, Mary, Brandon, Dusty, Justin, Aaron, Amanda, Jonathan, Cody, Emily, Alison, John, Bridget, Cortney, Megan and James; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Charles Henline.

He attended the one-room school at Shafertown and Parsons High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Fairfax Co. for more than 30 years and a former employee of Hinchcliff Lumber Co. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Parsons and a former member of Leadmine United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Parsons Lions Club. Irvin loved the Lord very much and enjoyed going to church. He loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and riding his 4-wheeler.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Philip Dent will officiate and interment will follow in Texas Cemetery at Horseshoe Run, Preston County.
