Helen Irene Linger, 81, of Elkins, passed suddenly on Sunday, July 1, 2012, in Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born Aug. 21, 1930, at Daysville, a daughter of the late Daniel Elmer "Kelly" and Janice Emma Lewis Campbell.
On June 5, 1947, she married Oden Lee Linger, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Roger Lee Linger and wife, Anna, of Sunderland, Md., Steven Michael Linger and wife, Veronica, of French Creek, Richard Daniel Linger and companion. Mitzi. of Wheaton, Md., and William Oden Linger and companion, Barbara, of Elkins; one daughter, Debra O'Denise Fullem and husband, Terry, of Edgewater, Md.; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew William Linger and two sisters.
Mrs. Linger was a front end manager for Safeway Stores Inc. in Maryland. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother and aunt and will be missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed painting and loving her grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buckhannon with Bishop Steven Linger officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
