State Director Bobby Lewis recently announced that U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development approved a Rural Business Enterprise Grant of $70,300 for Adaland Mansion Development Inc., in Barbour County.

Rural Development funds will be used to provide high-speed Internet access to the Adaland Mansion. Access will enable the applicant to provide on-site marketing, business activities/trainings and meetings. Funds also will provide necessary marketing opportunities for local small businesses.

Rural Development serves as the lead federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its housing, business, community and infrastructure programs. The U.S. Department of Agriculture prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program.
