Carol Jean Kidwell Mullennex was born March 5, 1939, at Harman. She was delivered by Dr. Harper and nurse C.I. Nine at 3:30 a.m., at home. Carol is the oldest child of John Wade and Dessie Judy Kidwell.
She died Aug. 6, 1993, in Georgetown University Hospital at Washington, D.C.
Carol had lived most of her adult life in the Washington, D.C. area.
Carol was preceded in death by both parents, grandparents on both sides, aunts and uncles on both sides.
She is survived by four brothers, Dick, David, O'Neal and Chris Kidwell; one daughter, Dana Lynn Mullennex Robinson; and one son, Paul Zimmerman Jr.
In 1958, Carol was united in marriage to Frank Allen Mullennex at Oakland, Md. They had one daughter, Dana Lynn, and divorced in 1961. In 1963 or 1964, she had a son, Paul Zimmerman Jr., with Paul Zimmerman Sr. of Washington, D.C.
Carol worked as a model, weather girl on TV and hostess at the Marriott, all in Washington, D.C. Carol had dreams of being a singer and a chef. She attended the schools of Greemont, Dayton, Ohio, and Tucker County. She was a 1957 graduate of Parsons High School.
The Kidwell family had lost contact with Carol for many years. In August 2011, her daughter, Dana, found her death in the Social Security death index. After a long year of searching for her remain, with the help of Washington, D.C. city officials, we were able to locate and bring Carol Home.
Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. On Sunday, July 8, in a graveside service with family and friends, Carols remains will be laid to rest by her parents in Parsons City Cemetery.
