Randolph County Commission President Mike Taylor has informed the The Inter-Mountain that today's power outage was the result of either a transformer fire or a recloser device failure near the Tygart Valley Mall. He said there is no "estimated time of restoration." However, Elkins Mayor Duke Talbott says he was told power should return soon. An undetermined number of customers were effected in Elkins, Kerens, Montrose and a significant part of Randolph County, Taylor said. More information will be provided when it is available.
