Some of the recent projects have been giving three partial scholarships at the Old Brick Playhouse, helping to fund student trips and helping to decorate for the senior party. The organization also gives a four-year, $500-a-year scholarship to a deserving senior each year. This year's winner is Allison Howell.
An open house on the Friday evening during the Mountain State Forest Festival is hosted each year and is a great time for alumni to renew friendships with old classmates and make new friends.
Currently, plans are under way for an alumni picnic to take place July 28 in the cafeteria at Elkins High School. Advance tickets can be purchased by calling Wilfong at 304-636-4172 or from any board member.
People interested in joining or renewing their membership can call Moats at 304-636-1817 or writ to: EHSAA, P.O. Box 782, Elkins, WV 26241. Memberships also will be available at the picnic July 28.
