Elkins Post 29 captured a pair of wins over the weekend.
Post 29 earned a 16-4 win over Bridgeport Friday night at Robin Harvey Memorial Field as Scott Fox smacked a grand slam, his 10th homer of the season. Caten Murphy also went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs, while Brennan Dettinger was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Ryne Bonnell 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Fox also earned the win on the mound to improve to 4-0. He allowed four runs on eight hits and fanned nine.
Kody Frey took the loss for Bridgeport.
Elkins then split a pair of games on Sunday at Moundsville.
Post 29 defeated Moundsville in the first game 8-3 as Christian Scott improved to 5-0 on the mound. He went six innings, allowing just two runs on six hits, striking out two and walking three.
Cody Gainer went 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs, including a two-run homer.
Colby Gainer and Fox also went 3-for-4 and Tyler Shreve 3-for-3.
Mitchell?French took the loss in 4 1/3 innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits.
Elkins had 17 hits in the game.
In the second game, Wheeling earned a 10-6 win.
Trevor Mouser took the loss, giving up five runs on eight hits in 1 1/3 innings. Issac Riggleman finished in relief.
Cody Gainer went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Heath Broughton and Shreve tallied RBIs.
Ethan Jacobs was the winning pitcher in six innings of work. He gave up four runs on five hits.
Elkins (20-7) is slated to host Morgantown at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Robin Harvey Memorial Field.
Post 29 remains home Wednesday to face Buckhannon at 7 p.m.
