James Franklin Evick, 68, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren Ohio.
He was born Oct. 2, 1943, at Elkins, the son of the late Russell and Juanita Collett Evick.
James married Sheila Jean McCarty Dec. 1, 1973, who preceded him in death Jan. 30, 2004.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was employed at GM Lordstown as an assembler and retired in 2000 after 33 years of employment, a member of United Auto Workers Local 1112, Alliance for Retired Americans and enjoyed fishing, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and liked to go to football games.
He is survived by his sons, James (Heather) Evick II of Champion, Ohio, and Jason (Emily) Evick of Ravenna, Ohio; brothers Russell F. Evick of Miami Beach, Fla., and Robert (Sheri) Evick of Kannapolis, N.C.; and grandchildren, Leah, Logan, Liveah, Evelyn, Derrick, Tayler and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Edward Evick.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
