Alene Kitzmiller

Alene Kitzmiller, 93, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, the Chenoweth Creek community, passed away Tuesday morning, July 10, 2012, in Colonial Place where she had been a resident since Friday.

She was born Aug. 28, 1918, at Elkins, a daughter of the late William Glenn and Sarah Davy Whiteman.

On Oct. 11, 1937, at Tom's Brook, Va., she was married to Jennings Harold Kitzmiller, who preceded her in death March 5, 2002.

She is survived by two sons, Jay Kitzmiller of Paradise, Calif., and Robert Kitzmiller of Buckhannon; and two daughters, Joyce Auman of Smyrna, Tenn., and Carolyn "Jeanie" Morrison of Elkins. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, five nieces and four nephews.

Also preceding her in death were five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Kitzmiller was a 1936 graduate of Elkins High School and was a homemaker and a member of First Church of Christ in Elkins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, in Maplewood Cemetery. Dr. Phillip Richards will officiate and interment will follow.
