Ola L. Calhoun

Ola Leona Calhoun, 87, of Colonial Place of Elkins, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away July 13, 2012, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

She was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Crab Orchard, Raleigh County, a daughter of the late Luther E. and Minnie P. Snuffer Tolbert.

Ola was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, gardening, and especially enjoyed her family. She was a longtime member of Edgelawn United Methodist Church which was a very important part of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Roscoe W. Calhoun; two sons, William E. Calhoun (Rebecca) of Elkins and David Calhoun (Mary Lou) of Davisville; one sister, Garnet Coffman of Beckley; two brothers, John Tolbert of Lewisburg, and Billy Tolbert of Millwood; four grandchildren, Sarah Post Calhoun (Kevin Jacobs) of Gaithersburg, Md., Dave Calhoun (Jennifer) of Bridgeport, Ohio, Emily Anne Calhoun of Elkins and Ryan Calhoun of Davisville; and one great grandson, Adam Blackwell of Bridgeport, Ohio.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. today at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, with Rev. Danny McVey officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family received friends on Sunday July 15, 2012, and will again from 10 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
