CLARKSBURG - Joseph LaRocca had two hits to lead Harrison?County past Elkins 9-3 Thursday in opening round action of the 15-year-old Babe Ruth State Tournament at Frank Loria Field.
LaRocca also scored three runs for Harrison?County.
Harrison County advanced to play Ceredo-Kenova in the late game on Thursday, while Elkins will play Logan today at 2:30 p.m. in a losers bracket contest.

C.J. King and Austin Benson also had hits for Harrison?County.
Hunter Fain notched the win for Harrison?County in five innings of work.
"Harrison?County hit the ball well today," Elkins manager John Shaw said. "We didn't play good defense and they got some timely hits, especially in the first inning, and we had four errors in the first. We dug ourselves in a big hole and couldn't climb out of it."
John Huffman had a two-run double to lead Elkins at the plate.
Hunter Shipp added a single and scored a run for Elkins.
Tyler Gray chipped in with a double, while Kevin McDermott and Trey Bodkin all had singles for Elkins.
Owen Arbogast took the loss for Elkins in 5 1/3 innings of work. He gave up nine runs in a losing effort.
Shipp pitched 2/3 of an inning of relief for Elkins.
"I'm proud of how the kids never gave up and fought until the end of game," Shaw said. "I thought Owen really pitched well and Hunter came into the game to pitch and was able to get us out of the inning."
