CLARKSBURG - Chase Preston pitched a no-hitter to lead Logan past Elkins 3-0 Friday in the 15-year-old Babe Ruth state tournament at Frank Loria Field.
Preston walked one and struck out nine for Logan.
Chris Bodkin took the loss for Elkins in 5 2/3 innings of work.
Hunter Shipp pitched a third of an inning for Elkins.
Bodkin and Kevin McDermott were the two players who reached base for Elkins in the game, by walk and error.
"The kids never quit and fought 'till the end," Elkins coach John Shaw said. "I thought Chris and Hunter pitched well, but we had some errors late in the game which hurt us. I?thought the kids had a great two games in the tourney."
