Ronald Neil Weese, 83, a resident of the Highland Park community, Elkins, departed this life Monday morning, July 23, 2012, in Barbour County Good Samaritan Center at Belington. He had been in declining health for the past five years.
He was born Tuesday, Sept. 25, 1928, at Elkins, a son of the late Arley Hurry and Lillie Emma Wiley Weese.
On March 30, 1953, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the former Carla E. "Jean" Finlen, who survives. They had celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Also surviving are one son, Clifford Ray Weese and wife, Sherry Lee, of Elkins; two daughters, Mary Jo Moyer and Hazel Ann Weese, both of Elkins; two brothers, Harry Weese and wife, Juanita, and LeRoy Weese, all of Elkins; six grandchildren, Carla, Heather, Justin, Nikki, April and Amanda; and five great-grandchildren, Lorin, Morgan, Abbie, Emily and Katie.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, James and Arley Weese Jr.; and three sisters, Kathleen Ernest, Bertha L. Weese and Edith J. Myers.
He attended the schools of Randolph County, was the owner and operator of the Elkins Cab Co., had worked as a custodian at Elkins High School, had worked for the Appalachian Community Health Center and was a member of Believers Fellowship at Montrose. He was a home builder, a clock maker and enjoyed hunting and gardening.
The family will received friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Thursday, July 26, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Terry Cannon will officiate and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
