Fall practice times have been announced for area high school sports teams.
All prep teams except volleyball are scheduled to begin practice on Monday. Volleyball will start the following week.
Elkins practice times are as follows: football will have fitting at noon and will start practice at 2 p.m. at Wimer Field. Cross country will be at 8 a.m. at the Davis & Elkins Athletic Fields. Girls soccer will be at EHS?and will start at 8 a.m. During the week of Aug. 13, the team will practice at 3 p.m. Boys soccer will start at 7:30 a.m. at EHS. Cheerleading will have tryouts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
There will also be a parents meeting Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Elkins High School Theater for anyone interested in playing fall sports. During the meeting, each fall coach will speak and discuss the season. Players and parents are encouraged to attend.
Tygarts Valley practice times are as follows: football will be from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bulldog Field. Cheerleading practice is slated for noon at Tygarts Valley Gymnasium. Girls soccer will be at 5 p.m. at Homestead School. Golf will be at 9 a.m. at the old Davis & Elkins gym. The following practices will start on Aug. 6th: volleyball at 4 p.m. at Tygarts Valley Gymnasium.
Buckhannon-Upshur practice times are as follows: football will be at 9 a.m. and cross country at 8 a.m. at the high school. The remainder of practices will start on Aug. 6: Girls soccer at 6 a.m. Boys soccer at 5:30 p.m. Cheerleading at 9 a.m.
There will be a mandatory meeting for parents and football players on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. at the middle school.
A helmet fitting for B-U players will also be held during the meeting.
Tucker Country practice times are as follows: football will be at 8:15 a.m. at the high school. Golf at 8 a.m. at Canaan Valley. Cross country will be at 7:30 a.m. at Hendricks Park.
